MAD FOR DANCE
One of a series of films Dylan made for Channel FIVE's 'Mad for Dance' series.
Emma Connor has suffered from Social Anxiety Disorder all her life. From running away when the phone rings, to never speaking at school, the result has been intense loneliness and a world of avoidance and missed opportunities: "I never had any friends and it stopped me from doing things that were risky that would have developed me as a person". Her biggest breakthrough was identifying the condition and attending a support group, which helped her begin to come out of her shell. She then felt able to fulfill a lifelong dream and attend street dance classes. Now she even enjoys going out clubbing: "It makes me feel so liberated. I've never found anything like it".
